A beautiful display ammonite which has been preserved in various shades of brown calcite. The matrix has a cut base for upright display purposes. This type of ammonite is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain these days from this iconic locality. Approximately 200 million years old.
A unique item. Can't absolutely missing inside the collection.
Asteroceras obtusum with a small Promicroceras planicosta and a some calcite crystals.
The piece comes with a species label and does not need any support. The rock is cut so as to be able to stand up.
