Green Apophyllite-(KF) with Golden Stilbite on Basaltic Matrix MIN-00086

An elegant specimen of green apophyllite associated with golden stilbite crystals, presented on a dark basalt matrix. The apophyllite crystals display the typical aquamarine color with a pearly luster, while the stilbites form fan-shaped, yellow-creamy tabular aggregates. A classic mineralogical assemblage of Trappean basalt formations, ideal for collectors and university teaching.

An elegant specimen combining three mineral species in perfect natural association: green apophyllite crystals with a characteristic aquamarine color and a pearly luster, and fan-shaped tabular aggregates of golden stilbite in a creamy yellow hue, all nestled within a dense, dark basalt matrix.

The apophyllite crystals exhibit the typical pyramidal shape of the tetragonal system, with smooth, lustrous facets that vividly reflect light. Stilbites, hydrothermally formed zeolites, cover the matrix with their radial aggregates, lending the piece extraordinary aesthetic depth.

This association is typical of the Trappean volcanic formations of the Deccan Plateau (Pune district, India), where basaltic cavities hosted the slow growth of zeolite and phyllosilicate minerals in a low-temperature hydrothermal environment.

Mineralogy: Apophyllite (KF): tetragonal system, Mohs hardness 4.5–5, vitreous/mother-of-pearl luster, aquamarine color. Stilbite: monoclinic system, Mohs hardness 3.5–4, vitreous luster, golden-yellow-cream color.

Origin: Ahilyanagar District, Nashik Division, Maharashtra, India

Condition: Natural, untreated specimen in excellent condition.

This piece is suitable for collectors, mineralogy students, and educational displays. Shipped in shockproof packaging.
