Vanadinite - Mibladen Mining District, Midelt, Morocco

Vanadinite, Mibladen Mining District, Midelt, Morocco

A fine specimen of vanadinite crystals with the typical deep red color and vitreous to resinous luster, from the famous Mibladen Mining District (Midelt, Khénifra Province, Meknès-Tafilalet Region, Morocco).

The crystal habit is stout prismatic to tabular, with a clearly visible hexagonal cross-section. The crystals form a compact, vibrant cluster on a brownish-ochre matrix, with many smaller orange-red crystals decorating the base of the piece. The bright faces and internal reflections give the specimen great visual impact.
