Attractive specimen of quartz [SiO₂] from the Monti Pisani, a classic Tuscan locality situated between Pisa and Lucca.

The piece presents itself as a group of prismatic crystals on matrix, displaying a vivid and characteristic intense orange-ochre coloration due to pervasive iron oxidation (goethite/limonite). Particularly striking is a hyaline, water-clear and transparent crystal in the central position, with a brilliant and well-defined termination, creating a pleasing chromatic contrast with the surrounding orange matrix — an aesthetically very appealing detail. The matrix is rich and natural, with several partial crystals testifying to growth in a hydrothermal vein environment.
