Charming specimen of hematoid quartz [SiO₂ with hematite/goethite inclusions] from Procchio, one of the classic localities on the Island of Elba for this variety — an island historically celebrated in mineralogy for the extraordinary diversity and quality of its minerals.

The piece features a solitary, slender prismatic crystal with a vivid and warm intense orange-amber coloration, due to fine iron oxide inclusions evenly distributed along the prism. The termination is well-defined and lustrous. The crystal rises elegantly from a ferruginous sandy matrix of ochre-golden color, covered by a myriad of tiny crystallites, creating a visually very characteristic ensemble instantly recognizable as a typical Elban product.
